and before anyone starts with that “it’s all white people” that ain’t true neither. there’s a BUNCH of great black country artists like Willie Jones (who has a new album comin out soon), Amythyst Kiah, Blanco Brown, Mickey Guyton, The War and Treaty (a husband and wife duo who do gorgeous love songs), Breland, Shy Carter, Brittney Spencer, Allison Russell, Jimmie Allen (who does more “typical” country if country fusion isn’t your speed), Kane Brown, and the supergroup Our Native Daughters just to name a few

not to mention in the past several years we’ve seen an incredible queer country movement! I’m not gonna link y'all to Orville Peck and Lil Nas X bc I’m tryin to broaden your horizons (though they’re both incredible don’t get me wrong). check out Sam Williams (grandson of country legend Hank Williams and son of the equally iconic Hank Williams Jr), Mya Byrne (for all my trans folks), Shane McAnally, Waylon Payne, Joy Oladokun, Paisley Fields, Katie Pruitt, Ty Herndon, Brandi Carlile, Brooke Eden, and Shelly Fairchild

(note some previously mentioned artists like Amythyst Kiah and Allison Russell are queer and some artists on my queer list are people of color, because those ain’t separate categories and there’s a lot of overlap!)

anyway you lot might not remember that the reason cas appeared in dean’s dream in 4x20 is because he found out what heaven had planned and immediately tried to pass the message on but EYE do. and EYE remember that he literally got lobotomised for it. and EYE remember that dean’s argument in 4x22 wasn’t that cas should agree with him but that he already knew cas was on his side before he was dragged “back to bible camp” (<- direct quote btw!). and EYE know canon clearly depicted cas’ capacity to rebel independent of dean, time and time again.

My brother is a librarian, and his library is one of the ones that hosts Drag Queen Story Time.

He is also 6'3", 300 lbs of Heavy Weapons Librarian.

This week, some karen showed up to take video of said storytime. She was unmoved by the director of the library telling her their policy against taking video in the children’s room.

My brother was also unmoved. Specifically, he was unmoved from his position directly in the line of karen’s cellphone. She got video of an acre of blue broadcloth shirt, and that’s it.

Other people who showed up to scowl at the drag queen decided they had other things to do that day when my brother scowled at them. He inherited our Mama’s scowl, and it’s a good one.
